Partial Dentures Fixed. The fixed partial denture (FPD) is a dental reconstruction that is permanently applied to adjacent teeth or dental implants and used to replace damaged teeth. For a partly edentulous patient who needs to have new teeth for practical or aesthetic purposes and who can not have a bridge for any reason, such as a lack of necessary teeth to act as protection for a bridge or financial constraints, a removable partial denture is a denture.
